We liked Kyrgyzstan so much in 2012, that we went back in 2014! This time we went ski touring in the Ak-Shirak region to the south of lake Issyk-Kul. A wild glaciated mountain region where we lived, skied and slept at about -25 degrees (you get used to it after a while….), explored areas that maybe nobody had ever skied before, saw wolves, and in general had an amazing time! A note for anyone that ever visits this part of Kyrgyzstan, you need a Russian 6 wheel drive truck! as there are no roads….
