A ski touring trip to an endlessly fascinating country. A week and a half spent ski touring between ryokans in the central alps of Japan. Soaking in onsens with a great Japanese beer in the evenings after amazing traditional meals – before sleeping in comfortable traditional rooms with tatami mats and thick quilts. The trip finished up with a winter ascent and descent of Mt Fuji. A long climb and bumpy descent on icy snow…. but worth it to be able to climb this mythical mountain.
